Grandad's Photos 1948 Indy 500

Other than what was written on the back of the photos above I have no other information. These two photos were found in a box of photos we inherited when my husband's grandfather passed away.

With this being Memorial Day weekend, and the Indianapolis 500 is currently underway, it just seemed like a good time to bring them out. Hope you enjoy them as much as we do.

  2. I love old family photos! I have spent lots of time scanning them and identifying the subjects. I'm sure you'll be seeing some on my essays blog. As a matter of fact, there's one on there now! (WWII era)

  4. Lynn,
A definite treasure. We are still not sure who was at the 500, my husband's dad or his grandfather. Will have to keep looking.

    MzzLily,
I love going through the old photo we have and love to see other's. That is a really good photo you posted.

    Elaine,
Thanks, we were very excited when we found these.

    Chris,
Welcome to my humble little blog. Lots of good stuff coming soon.

  5. Thanks for sharing those. Now I will just have to show these to others. My husband grew up in Indy not far from the raceway, so of course, he went to the races many times growing up. I lived in Indy for a time also, but never went, until I moved away. I saw the races one time--very exciting.
